Journée européennes du Patrimoine

European Heritage Day

Like the famous European Heritage Days, the Museum of the History of Daily Life joins for the first time the Days of the Matrilies organized by the association HF since 4 years. The museum's program adds heritage and heritage to showcase our cultural heritage during the weekend of September 21 and 22, 2019 Equality between men and women requires a revaluation of women's legacy. The current temporary exhibition "Madeleine project: from the cellar to the museum" presents the life of a woman who has passed through the twentieth century as seen by a twenty-first century author. This exhibition thus highlights an anonymous woman of the past by a creative and intellectual woman of the present. You therefore meet Madeleine through the objects she left in her cellar on 21 and 22 September 2019; as well as Clara Beaudoux in person Sunday, September 22, from 14h to 18h. After the excavations carried out during a project of the Transport Electricity Network, an ancient site of mainly Gallo-Roman occupation with artisanal activities related to fishing and iron work was revealed in a Delegate communes of Petit-Caux, Penly. Exceptionally, the archaeological material is presented in the exhibition "Exit of excavations". It is visible to the public only during the Heritage Days from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm. The archaeologist Claire Barbet in charge of the operation will explain her first conclusions during two conferences. September 21 and 22 at 15h30.
